Mr. Vince Milum, Chairman
Cold War Veterans Association
P.O. Box 13042
Overland Park, KS 66282-3042

Dear Mr. Milum:

Welcome to the Veterans History Project in the Library of Congress American Folklife Center. We are pleased to have the Cold War Veterans Association join us as an official partner, and are grateful for your support of this important national initiative.

[See: http://www.loc.gov/folklife/vets/partners/]

I will be the liaison to the project for your organization, and I look forward to working with you in the coming months. Should you have any questions, need advice or want to exchange information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Enclosed is my business card with contact information.

Also enclosed are the following Veterans History Project products:

• 25 brochures
• Project Instruction Kit
• Promotional video
• 2003 Commemoration Dates calendar
• Guidelines for use of Veterans History Project, American Folklife Center, and Library of Congress seals
• The current newsletter

The kit and calendar are also available on our Web site, www.loc.gov/vets, as is a VHP Event Planning and Publicity Toolkit for Partner Organizations.

We update the Web site as new tools, resources, and information become available, so be sure to visit often. For additional supplies or material, please call the Veterans History Project office at (202) 707-4916.

One of our objectives is to provide visibility to your organization by listing its name on the Veterans History Project Web site. Another important partner benefit is our online National Registry of Service which lists veterans and others who served whose wartime histories have been collected as part of the Project. Be sure to provide us with information about these veterans, using the forms available on the Web site. If you do not have Web access, I will be happy to send you print versions of these forms.

In closing, I encourage you to share with us updates about your project, including notices of special interviews, events and related Veterans History Project activities.

Sincerely,

Peter Bartis
Senior Program Officer
